Why does LL allow "guest" to like post on threads?  Is it really a true guest just randomly surfing Lake Link or is it the same person coming in anonymously and liking their own posts several times or is it members that dont want to show they support a comment?

Just curious, sure seems to be a few people on this site that have a lot of likes on their comments but they are always guests

Interesting comment on the You P I P we all have an IP -- what other information is being collected and disseminated to others.

Do you view IPs for the guest as well?

While eating my sammy. Just by a quick search will tell you exactly how you can get and locate someone's IP address. Google is a fascinating  And scary tool

I did a little experiment.  On the same post, Not signed in, I hit a like button once, it showed 1.  Signed in, hit the like button once, it showed.2  However after that, each way. it showed I already liked.  So that indicates, no poster could hit their own likes more then twice.

Nope it doesn't matter Dave, just curious why you would allow guest to randomly like comments / topics  / threads.  If I like a comment I guess it doesn't really matter to me what others think, I never took it that way that people would be judged for their opinion

I never thought of LL as a popularity contest. I’ve always used the “Like” button if I enjoyed the comment. It really doesn’t matter if you’re a User or a Member if you enjoy the comments.

Does it really matter? Some people might want to like a post anomalously so as not to attract the attention of the "LL Squad"

Dave great clarification, so people should have to join as Pro Members to have the ability to like topics and associated comments / threads

Negative.. there have been many that topped the 60 mark, and a couple that topped 100.

FishinXtreme   said members, not users..

TP just set LL record for most likes on a single post! Although the guest likes are dubious!
