I am physically in Minneapolis.. the IP associated with this post is 200.25.22.152, which would say I am in Santiago Chile..

I have a VPN that never shows my actual location, my ISP, or anything close to it and (on my PC) changes my IP address every few minutes if I choose.

I'll share what I know coming from a non-technical heating guy's perspective!

Directly to the right of the like button is a number, click on the number, and it will display the number of guests that liked any given post, as well as any members who liked the post. See attached pic. I feel like that was your main question. 

As to why some folks can get multiple guest likes, I would gather from Dave, BA, and nif that likes are associated with your IP address.  

For example, on cellular data your phone will have an IP address, on Wi-Fi it will have a different IP address.  So if you like a post from Starbucks Wi-Fi, or other Wi-Fi networks such as work, you could have as many likes as you have IP addresses. BA mentioned some techie way to change your IP address (guessing Larb knows something about this lol)
