Looking to be anyone's race this year. Mitch in the lead, but not really. Lost his best dog-dropped a few checkpoints back. Predicting a Reddington brother right in there til the end. Fun to follow. Anyone else?
Dog thought he said sit , not oh sheet .
They did. Same with Seavey, took a 14.5 hour trip that should have been about 7-8. Will be a 45 minute head start for Peter from White mountain. Fun finish in store.
Word on the street is that Petit's dogs quit on him.
Wow, 5 minutes apart. What a finish I hope. Crazy from first place to dropping. I hope they go back to 16 dogs to start the race next year. Think that and a slow wet trail is causing a lot of rethinking. Lot of strategical mistakes this year. Should finish early tomorrow.
Bethel native just took the lead. Petit overtaxed his dogs, it is not a sprint. Could be a close finish, should be. Fun to follow. Leaders should finish early Wednesday. Warm and wet this year.
Finnmarkslopet more exciting.
Some teams are starting to lose dogs. I see a good number of teams down to 11 dogs that started with 14. Jesse Holmes still has all 14 running.
You can sign up for free and get musher updates on 1 musher of your choice. They send you email or text alerts when they come in and out of checkpoints.
Petit is running amazing, all 14 dogs, ahead 25 miles. This should be a close finish. I expect those lagging behind to be aggressive, may work out, may burn out. Should be fun for sure.
Now you got me hooked into watching how this unfolds! hahaha Thanks!
I am pulling for Jesse Holmes.
Two girls in the top 5, a year about 15 mushers can win. Hoping for Seavey or one of the two girls, but a lot of race left. Warm conditions may make some change strategies.
