Fuel costs came up over the weekend. I pointed out that the price has been dropping.
"Ya, but you're gonna be payin' over &$7/gal for diesel by summer!"
Why? Did this guy have some inside track on the future?. Did he have some intelligent comment to make regarding policies, or trends or anything? No. He just said the name of our POTUS. That - presumably - should be enough.
This was in front of a bunch of people....Why do people do that?...We get it - you don't like the president. But independent of that...It still sounds stupid....Nobody engaged him further. Not because he had the last, definitive word, but because it's not worth the trouble.
BTW, be the guy driving a Toyota, complaining how much it costs you to get to work 12 miles from home. Be unable to discuss the issue intelligently. Do it in front of a couple guys who make a living - in part - driving multiple large diesel trucks from one job to the next...And running diesel equipment when there....Sure. You've got our sympathy.
But he was a big guy. Loud. "Large" personality....That's often enough.

Look at where the fuel distribution terminals are in Wisc.
The one near Waupun on Hwy 26 handles almost 1/3rd of the areas needs. Perhaps that is why FDL and Waupun have cheaper fuel prices. Cheaper transportation costs for wholesalers.
The big terminal in Milwaukee on N107th St should have the Milw prices cheaper than any where but they aren’t. Games the fuel companies play.!
