They probably source the straw from a local farmer for $4 a bale and jack the cost up. Buy direct and skip HD.

Everything's getting through the roof expensive. Was at Appleton Home Depot yesterday, and with their outdoor garden supplies in the parking lot, was a pallet of exceptionally small bales of straw.   $12.99 per bale.

We still pay almost half a price compared to Europe. In Norway, Germany  prices are well over $ 8.00/gallon  and the Norway is big oil and gas supplier

FLM everything there is expesive including firewood. Plus gasoline tax is a big revenue source for local govts to fund new construction and provide jobs

Author of that article could have shortened it up to...."Well, I have no idea what oil prices are going to do."

Was in Alaska the past week on the Kenai Peninsula for a mission trip.  I saw gas as "low" as 4.49 a gallon and as high as 5.49 a gallon! The highest prices were in the tourist towns of Homer and Seward.  Cheapest was in Soldotna.  I do not understand what-so-ever why gas would be so expensive in a refinery town?  Wouldn't they have to only ship it to a gas station like 1 mile? You'd think so, but apparently it still gets shipped out to Anchorage, then all over from there until it eventually comes back to the towns it came from!

gobbler here in Platteville we have 3 KT and they are generally 5-10 cents higher than the 3 small independents.
If fuel prices drop it's usually 1-2 weeks before you see it here. I have seen it where it's 20-40 cents difference 30-40 miles away for weeks.
They pretty much have the market and set the price here in Platteville.

Everyone talks about price gouging oil companies and retail gas stations. I can name hundreds of items that are bigger gougers than fuel related businesses. KT is one of the worst to keep fuel prices high and yet they are the busiest stations around. Boycott them just like the Casinos. JMO
