Gander Outdoors closing.

Never saw a company last for such a short period of time as this one.  Lot's of stores have closed.  I don't see the ones that sell campers go away just yet.  Is the one by you closed??

Is GB gander outdoors the only one closing in wi, or are others in wi closing?   If so, does anyone know closing dates?

Nice price on the President reels.  Usually are $59.  Stank tried those out a year or two ago and was amazed at how much more distance you get on a cast with those.  We both have switched out a bunch of our reels and with those.

Went back and spent another $300 tonight. Bought the eagle claw ice rod case for $35. Also 2 Pflueger President reels for $35/each.

yeah except kayakers tend to be cheapskates

Doesn't surprise me, they looked to be chasing the high price bike and kayak croud.

A failed business model following a tremendously failed business model. No surprise GO hasn't lasted.

The Rockford, Il store closed earlier this fall.  I was able to buy a St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass rod that was normally $ 280.00 I got for $ 160.00.  I saw the writing in the wall.  Like others said GO was using the same business model as GM.  Not ordering merchandise when the shelfs were empty just being supplied whatever corporate sent them and then they quit carrying Shimano Reels well that was it for me.

Onalaska was 20% , 10% on guns and ammo this past weekend. 

The entire Green Bay store is 40% off. I got a Marcum Lithium Shuttle for $150 last night. The wife bought a Columbia jacket for $84, was $140.

For myself, the Fleet Farm in Delevan has a sports section that blows Gander clean off the map. The Kenosha store could close and I wouldn't even miss it and I drive past the area daily. When I was looking for a certain ice jig they didn't carry an uninformed person working there said maybe I should try something different. Maybe carry an ice jig made in Wisconsin I like

You’re right they won’t be missed

Appleton lasted a matter of months. Same over priced merchandise, same failed business model, same management.... you get the drift. Unlikely to be missed by anyone. 

No matter what reincarnation they come back with high prices are an issue.Some of their salespeople are not very  familiar with outdoors products they sell.

The Rockford one is closing. The purported reason is that the parking lot isn't large enough to support RV sales. Definitely couldn't be that the parking lot was empty every time I drove by. Stopped in once and the selection was poor and far too overpriced.
