My wife and I enjoy going to small out of the way places for Fish frys around the Waterford area.last week we went to Lily Lake Resort and the fish was perfectly done. We especially like smelt but not many places serve them.Any suggestions?    Thanks. CARPIO

Wicasa, I wish I was in Onalaska. Honestly,  I often wish I was in Onalaska but right now it's for fried fish.

I just saw a great suggestion on a different site I visit. Should you choose not to go out to restaurants that you frequent at least but a gift certificate that they can at least use to keep the money for a month or two to get through this virus issue. I know they operate on a pretty tight margin so at least you will keep them going for a bit more. Those businesses or going to need some help and so are their employee's if they see a big drop in customers.

The folks at the pumpkin farm used to raise and sell perch . I wonder if they still do. CARPIO

I've been told the same about Perch by several owners, Mags. From my understanding much of it came from Lake Erie but those numbers are down and the Canadian suppliers are cutting back their sales to the US. Haven't heard about the Bluegill and Cod shortage.

There are several commercial operations starting now to grow fish for nothing more then to sell fillets to consumers because the numbers are low.
