I should disclose......lived in Wi forever....the Mrs's and I giving living in the Ozarks a shot.
I like to share our new differences.
Tarantulas in the wild a new norm. Seen our first scorpion the other night. Think I was tagged by one a week or two ago working in the wood pile. Sharp pain , tingling and then 3 boil type sores on the top of my hand. Looked like three scorpion strikes.
Snakes.....Copperheads , rattlers, cottonmouths clearly present. Was bite in April by a young viper on the forearm. Never felt as I was probably on a chainsaw. Dry bite assuming. Logger buddy pointed out the strike mark. Looked like the Summerfest smiley logo . Mrs had a close call with a cottonmouth shuffling around some stone on a stone wall. That was a rare sighting as we live rather high on a mountain and cottonmouths are more low lying , wet area type snake.
Roadkill copperheads very common in the warm humid months. Mostly evening movements. Its been wild in the wild. Hopefully I survive
