Didn't Ballesteros get called back down to AAA to help fix his slump? Wow that ball Bregman hit last night was crushed! I knew the second he made that swing that it was a home run! I'd also like to see Kelly play a little more. Amaya has been calling a good game lately though. I just can't believe how many wins this team is getting despite all the injuries at the pitcher position!
on 6/10 i made a series of scathing posts regarding this teams shortfalls....were they actually listening? i doubt it, but it sure seems like it, because things turned around the next day.....since 6/11, the Cubs have the best record in baseball and the offense is absolutely humming.
PCA is now....what....walking regularly and isnt the free swinging strikeout threat he was in may and is now the hottest bat in the league.
Suzuki is on fire, Horner is finally hitting, bregman is finally hitting.....Swanson, whos bat looked dead, is now a HR threat again and after an absolutely epic flurry, hes leading the team in rbi's.
this is one schizophrenic team, but it sure is fun when everything is clicking on offense.
the one question i have, and i may have just missed the reasoning, but i dont get why amaya is our #1 catcher....why is Kelly not the guy? why is Ballesteros playing less and less?

Walk off Cubs win! Seiya hits it deep almost out of the park. Wouldn't have mattered if the Padres defender caught it or not it was deep enough to send PCA from second. Play before that Swanson shouldn't have tried to go home on that shallow fly ball. Imanaga with another excellent outing. PCA still hitting the ball and hes making contact with pitches he didnt make contact with earlier in the season. Great game to make it 3 wins in a row!
Cubs win with a walkoff walk! Their 9th walkoff of the season which leads the Majors! Suzuki pitched another gem but then the bullpen blew it. Luckily they came back. PCA with the cycle (first in Cubs history doing it in reverse order) plus a key sacrifice fly (more like a line drive). Glad they came back and won tonight, they needed that!
Looks like they just needed me to call them out. Complain about not playing small ball, they whack multiple home runs (first 3 home run game since April 25), I complain about offensive productivity, they post big numbers......I complain about Bregmans bat, he goes yard....finally
