They call themselves "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village" What more do you need to know?
Stayed at Fort Walton Beach for a few days in early February on our drive back home. Destin was a few miles down the road. Much busier area but very nice, Didn't fish there, so can't help you on that end. Drove straight thru to get home; 16 hours/1060 miles.

Been there before. Nice area--check out this website: https://www.sandestin.com. Beautiful white sand beach, close to restaurants/shops and plenty of golf if you're into that. Since it's up in the panhandle the only concern is going this early in the year (March/April) as the weather can be unstable and cool (50's). If flying recommended flights would be to get one into Fort Walton Beach (closest) or Pensacola (1 1/2 to 2 hour drive to Destin/Sandestin). Hope this helps.
