Piscifun reels
I own a carbon x 2000, 4000 and two Alijos baitcasters. They're all smooth, solid built with huge amounts of drag all at a great price point. Having said that, Daiwa is also making some of the best reels on the market. If you're looking for a spinning reel I suggest the carbon x 2000. I know for a fact it'll enjoyable handle 20# kings and 30# black drum in Florida. It's also caught many crappie and bass. Just an all around nice reel that can do most everything, most guys ask it to.
Someone gave me a Viper 1000,they claimed it was fubar.Anti-reverse didn't work properly and was sticking.I took it apart and cleaned out the old grease.Whoever lubed it during assembly really overdid it.Grease got into the roller clutch.
Not a bad reel for the price, the quality of the"guts"was on par with reels that cost more.In all respects,a throwaway reel if something major breaks on it.Parts may be fun to find?
I need a new ultra lite reel so I thought I would take a ride to cabalas since I got a gift card for dads day. To my suprise not much there also. Made a stop at the new fleet farm in west bend before hand to check them out and it was the same. My home fleet farm in plymouth also with bare shelfs as far as fishing reels go. I asked the guy at Cabalas whats going on and he said that nothing is comeing out of china.Fleet farm in west bend did have one that I liked and I should have bought it. I cant remember what kind it was though lol. getting old sucks lol. now I got to pee.
Fleet Farm doesn't carry Piscifun. In fact FF doesn't carry anything! The shelves are friggin empty! I'm so done with them. The private equity gruop that bought them from the family is ruining a great WI brand because they are more concerned with increasing inventory turns. SAD.
