Anyone have any comments on these reels?
I own a carbon x 2000, 4000 and two Alijos baitcasters. They're all smooth, solid built with huge amounts of drag all at a great price point. Having said that, Daiwa is also making some of the best reels on the market. If you're looking for a spinning reel I suggest the carbon x 2000. I know for a fact it'll enjoyable handle 20# kings and 30# black drum in Florida. It's also caught many crappie and bass. Just an all around nice reel that can do most everything, most guys ask it to.
Does any retail store / chain store carry these?
Someone gave me a Viper 1000,they claimed it was fubar.Anti-reverse didn't work properly and was sticking.I took it apart and cleaned out the old grease.Whoever lubed it during assembly really overdid it.Grease got into the roller clutch.
Not a bad reel for the price, the quality of the"guts"was on par with reels that cost more.In all respects,a throwaway reel if something major breaks on it.Parts may be fun to find?
I have a carbon X 2000, and 2 honor XT 2000's.
I actually like the Honor XT better than the carbon X.
I have 4 of the carbon x and really like them. My boys have a some of the baitcasters and they work well for the $$.
I have 2 of the carbon x and they are a very nice reel. They are a very smooth reel and cast great. Have those on my walleye rods. Also have 2 Honor XT on crappie rods. I have pflueger supreme xt;s and can't tell much of a difference
I really like my carbon 1000 spinning reel . I have about 20 hrs on it. If I could locate a #2000 model I would purchase it. CARPIO
they are garbage and stay away from them
I use their UL spinning reels for ice fishing and have purchased a couple of the baitcasters for pulling bottom bouncers. Good luck at a great price so far.
