Panoptix livescope HELP NEEDED

I have the LVS32 Transducer mounted on a shaft from Fishing Specialties.  My question is ....It is on the side of my small Lund fishing boat.Pointing forward .....I think.  i was told, where the cord enters the top of the transducer, is the rear of the transducer.  the thing that is confusing me is.....When I calibrated the compass on the Livescope, a little boat appears on the screen, and the direction of the livescope beam.  This points to the starboard side and not straight ahead, which i think the transducer is pointing forward??  My shaft setup is on the starboard side also.

When I set up my PS 31 I contacted Garmin support and they were fairly prompt in responding to my email and provided helpful info.
