I have the rapala with the regular battery. It does fine. I bought a second one so I had 2 batteries. Together over the 3 or 4 years I've had them, they cleaned a lot of fish. I bought them mostly for going to Canada but have used them everywhere. I'm thinking the ion battery is the way to go. Good luck.

I bought the Rapala Lithium Ion Knife 8 months ago and it's still working great. Highly recommend.

Very happy with the Rapala Ion.  We took it on a fly in a couple years back and it died on the last fish of the trip.  My buddies were so impressed they take it on fly ins even when I am not there.

There is nothing better than the Rapala Ion IMO. Cleans everything quick

I really never got the hang of using  an electric filet knife. Especially on the panfish. Can still whip them out pretty quick with my old standard rapala knifes.

I have a corded rapala knife which I forgot to pack for vacation. Wish I had brought it to clean all the bluegill we caught.

I have had several corded Rapala knives, thought that they were the cats me I was until I bought the Rapala Ionia cordless, it is sweet. L I tsillights of power, and super long run time. Definitely worth getting.

Just bought the Rapala Ion, I will let you know as soon as I am able to use. Mainly bought to do northerns in Canada, I pickle them and am not worried about the bones.
