I'm looking for an ultralight spinning reel, mostly for panfish. What is everyone using out there? Any input would be really helpfull. My price range is anywhere from $30-100.

Best ultralight spinning reel
If ease-of-acquisition is important to you, in that $30 to $100 price range, I'd likely recommend the Okuma Ceymar C-10 which is readily available on Amazon. Here's a full write-up on ultralight spinning reels if you're interested in more options.
"Daiwa Exceler 2500 EXLT2500D-XH
Is not an ultralight class that suckers a cow"
All I know is that it balances perfectly with my Loomis 7'6" one piece UL trout/panfish rods, as well as my Avid Custom 7' one piece UL. Balance is THE most important thing to me. A super UL reel is worthless if the rod is very tip heavy IMHO.
If 5' rods are your thing, then a 5 oz reel might be the right choice. I prefer much longer rods for all aspects of panfishing.
BassAddict, Thanks. I have seen numerous used ones on eBay....usually in poor shape or for parts use only. One seller had a NOS one, in the original box...I believe it was a 1973 model. I really wanted to buy it, but his asking price was over $200....he wouldn't budge either. Currently pretty happy with a couple of older Pflueger and Daiwa UL's.
Drummer boy what is a number 5 the only thing I could find reference to that is this

It's supposed to be the gold standard for ultralight reels
So when I look at what the best reel is I look for something they can compete up against the gold standard
1 weight
2 smoothness how many ball bearings
3 will it last
4 cost
