Looking to hear what you think the best lures for gills, perch and crappie are?
Best Ice Fishing Lures
Big fan of tungsten teardrops.. can catch any panfish and once in awhile get surprised with a walleye.
Well, for perch it's either a rat finkie or a rocker (bright yellow or bright orange). For gills, tear drops or 1/16 oz. tungsten with a spike or two. For crappies, a white colored rocker or a moon-glo jig. For perch, when they are biting well, I set some tip-ups out (Beaver Dam tip-ups) with fatheads hooked on a number 12 treble hook. Set the tip-up real light on the end of the spindle so you detect light bites. If perch are biting they will usually swallow these hooks and minnows. I have also had luck with minnow heads on the jig for perch and crappies. But, as you probably know, some days none of these fish hit anything.
Ain't that the truth
Wax worms and spikes.
Usually the one that I don't have while at the bait shop. It's an addiction.....
