EYES

I have a 4 year old black lab.

We duck hunted Sat. am and when we go back to the house his eyes were swollen shut.  He had these nasty little burs all over in his coat.

Took him to vet Sunday am, because he still would not open his eyes.  Vet flushed his eyes and gave an me an antibiotic and and anti inflammatory meds.

Vet said probably an allergic reaction to the plants we were in.

As of today, the dog still has trouble keeping his eyes open, lots of fluid, not green.

Anyone else ever experience something like this?

Wife wants him to go back to vet again.

Musky-  Have seen the exact same issue on one of my labs and a buddy's lab after a duck hunt where we were in contact with those little prickly burrs (forget plant name).Had to have the dogs eye's flushed out and they were both fine after a couple of days. Have never used goggles on one of my pups and I just avoided that specific area.

Took the dog back to the vet today for follow up on his eyes.  He did have ulcers on both eyes as of today All good, vet said he can hunt again.

However vet told my wife the dog should wear goggles when hunting!?!?  WTF

Anyone ever see or hunt with a dog wearing googles!??
Of course Amazon has them.

When one of our dogs had a allerigic reaction to a vaccine she got a dose of prednisone (or prednislone). that worked reasonably fast.

If your dog isnt progessing you should be concerned and may need another vet visit
