I am looking for some good insight , on some GOOD smallmouth fishing. Looking at next year, also looking for numbers with some size, wouldn't mind hiring a guide. We want it to be a drive to resort. The fishing shows are to over whelming .

fishguidealso is so right good smallie and crappie fishing. The last day I fished there this June my son and I caught well over a hundred on top water baits. I didn't fish for crappie but our friends that did caught them real good too.

Fireside Lodge near Sioux Lookout. You can catch 50-150 a day, most between 15-21 inches. Great hosts and food at the lodge. Don't need a guide, they will put you on the fish.

Cedar lake is about as good as it gets for numbers and size.

Check out clarkes northern lights resort.

Lake also has a good crappie population.
