Any suggestions for the best rain gear for a fat guy? Would need 4 to 5x for extra room. I wear 3x for normal clothes. Bout 6'2 Thanks
Best rain gear
I have friends who like Frogg Toggs and I believe they go to 3X.
I just got my Marmot Precip suit. It's lighter weight but I know first-hand that it's a quality suit. The outfitter we went with in Alaska provided those suits both times we were there fishing. It rained every day except for the day we arrived and the day we left the first time we were there. Never got wet once. The pants are pants, not bibs. Both times we were there, there some pretty big guys staying at the lodge and they had suits that fit them very well.
While I'm just an XL, I recently got a light pair of raingear from Frabill via Wing Supply. F1, I believe. They went on sale and were very affordable, so I picked up a pair. You may want to check them out and see if you find anything you like.
My heavy pair, also an XL is 100MPH rainsuit from Bass Pro. Love that stuff. Just too warm for me in the summer, though.
Thanks grizz. I'l check those out. Been looking at the carhartt stuff too. Seems like good stuff.
We share about the same physique....
I use the Bass Pro Shop "Tournament Special" bibs and parka. Bass Pro has them on sale right now. I have used them for years.
