Going to Perrault lake on Saturday.....does anyone have any reports? Any idea when the mayfly hatch may occur? Thanks for any information you can share.

Bert, we did very well at the sandbar.  I think our best night was 32 walleyes and averaged 18 per night.  Didn't keep a one.  Caught the perch in Spadina/Rainy Lake.  Lot's of boats in there so the perch took a beating.  We didn't keep any perch under 10"; had a blast.  We remember fishing that year with you guys.  Take care.

Thanks for the report. Did you fish the sandbar? Where did you catch the perch? I fished close to you guys at sandbar and the wall a couple of years ago, we stayed at manotak.

Had a super week at Rocky Shores Lodge.  Chris and Mike are tremendous hosts.  Comfortable cabins, boats and up to date fishing reports.  Our group of 4 caught just under 800 fish per boat.  About 200 walleyes for our boat, the rest, largely perch.  Never kept a perch under 10" and for the group, we brought home 103 and caught a ton of 9.75" perch.  Hope we find some of them next year.  Biggest walleye was 27" with several between 18 and 22".  Kept our limit of 17" fish.  Also had an 18" smallie and 2, 35" northerns that were all released.  Kept 5 under 17" to pickle; hope they turn out.  Give this lake and the Lodge a chance; you'll be glad you did.

Will be heading up 8/24; leaving at 2pm and I'm ready.  Will provide a report upon our return.  I love reading them and they're helpful.  Too bad others don't feel the same way.

My Canadian trapper catches walleyes, perch and once in a while a small northern.  Also have netted a few crappies for him.  I don't believe he's caught the elusive red horse yet; maybe this will be the year.  And you?

BlueJay Bert,

Did you guys fish Perrault this year and if so, how'd you do?  Greyghost, Slick. Rick and I are heading up on the 24th for an entertaining week.  Sure hope the fish are biting; I know we'll find some that cooperate.  Thanks, Steve

I have not fished there in many years. When we did we got a lot of small mouth bass and perch. Don't remember catching any crappie. Caught walleye in the mornings heading for deeper water out of the weed beds.

Any fishing reports to pass along. Will be leaving for Rocky Shores Lodge on the evening of the 24th and can't wait.  Plan on guiding my boat mate to a large walleye so I can offer my impeccable netting skills.  Looking forward to the Rick and Slick Show as well.  Any word on crappies or jumbo perch? Thanks

RC, I believe the fella you're referring to is GreyGhost, the famous Canadian trapper.  Will be sure to look you up when we get there; could use some tips on catching the walleyes.  I hear they don't bite until after 9.  Looking forward to the trip but would love to see some fishing reports.
