English River - Manitou Falls

Just got back from the English River downstream from Manitou Falls. Water level was "normal" for the first time in several years. Still lots of things to hit but no issues getting anywhere. Fishing was less good than usual. Group of 6 fished 5 days. We had 63 walleyes >20in, which is down ~50% from normal. We had 2 fish 26"+ and 4 >24 inches. We don't "fish for" northerns but ended up with 2 in the 32 - 33 range. We still caught a bunch of walleyes, just not very big. Water temps were in the 50s. No road construction in CN from FF to Ear Falls. MN had several lane closures on 35 & nothing from Cloquet north to the border. Don't forget your bug spray, gnats and mosquitoes were both terrible.
