Dumb question

Bought a new to me motor for my john boat, an 8hp yamaha 2 stroke. When i sold my old motor i kept the gas tank as it is a perfect fit in my boat. Do I need a specific yamaha fitting for the gas tank or can i just clamp the hose on the current fitting? The current fitting is one piece connected to the straw type piece that goes to the bottom of the tank. Its a "dinghy mate" gas tank. Just not sure if air will get in the line without a specific fitting for the motor. Thanks.

Thanks. Already have it set up. Motor i bought had a yamaha fitting on both ends and it got me thinking. But i took that tank side fitting off and sleeved it on.

Should be able to make your own line which fits the tank and have the right fitting for the motor . Places like Fleet Farm and others have what you need to make it work
