I am thinking about upgrading to a 24 volt system, if I do I will buy two new batteries. Any suggestions on brands?

I just bought 3 of the everstarts also for my 36 v system. They have " johnson control " stamped right on them. Paid $300 plus tax at walmart

Just replaced my 6 year old interstate batteries (36v system).  They still worked fine, but I would not get the extended runs I prefer out of them.  They are now backups on another boat.  Replaced with like kind.

I have 3 blue-top Optimas for my rig, 2 are 10 years old, one is 5, and all are as strong as day one.  Of course I have a 3-bank onboard charger that allows for automatic charging TLC...Paid maybe $210ea...

I have interstate batteries from CarQuest. It's the CarQuest brand but both are made by Johnson Controls.

I too use interstate.  What ever you buy, get two new ones the same size.  Take care of them, charge them nightly after each use, they will last you a long time.  On one boat, I got 8 or 9 years from a set of batteries that I took care of.

I've had great luck with the Walmart Evertstart 29DC, I use them for my starter and my trolling motor batteries.

I use interstate from Costco. No problems at all.
