Ulterra trolling motor set up questions

Just got an Ulterra traded up and am trying to link the remote and the gps puck. It doesn’t seem to be working. Anyone that can help with ideas or videos of how to do this would be appreciated

Did your press the power button on the motor to turn it on before pushing the pair button?

Do you have your motor in the down position? I was told if the motor is up it doesn't pair.

I have power on the puck   it blinks red like it says it should but when I press the pairing button on the ulterra nothing happens    Might just call Minnkota
