What would you guys consider high hours of use for a boat motor, I'm talking 150+horse power motors.

A friend of mine worked for OMC for many years, he told me outboards are engineered to last about 1000 hours running time, didn't seem like much to me.

Fresh or saltwater? The thing that hurts outboards up here is the lack of use. They like to be used.Take care of them, and they will take care of you.
