anyone regretting lithium trolling motor batterys

After reading all this I may have to make a change.  Hate to just get rid of my current batteries so I'll use them for a while yet, but my next ones might have to be these.  I know if I use my 24v Terrova to steer while salmon fishing, with a kicker pushing us, I'll be way under 50% after 5 hours.  Not even sure I could get 7 hours to be honest, doubtful.   This would be great when I want to do a morning and evening trip.

My garage stays above 32 normally so I am thinking of leaving them in the boat. I will fully charge them and the pull the plug as they have a very low discharge rate unlike lead acid batteries. If it dropped below freezing I would definitely pull them out, much the same as lead acid batteries. Difference is they only weigh 26.4 lbs so much easier to remove! First season with my WEIZE batteries and so far I am completely satisfied. The BMS has multiple levels of protection built into the battery such as overcharge/over dis-charge and over temp/low-temp.  They can actually be used to -4F but need to be charged at 32F or higher.

I can run it 2+ days without a charge.   Power stays rock solid and consistent the entire time.  I absolutely love it.

My advice for configuration and size and is get the largest batteries you can afford. You won't be sorry. Lead batteries are so flaky and unreliable. I was only getting 2 full seasons out of mine, and they would always slowly die at the worst moments.  I fish alot and charged the batteries religiously.  If you're claiming to get 5-7 years out of your batteries, you aren't fishing much. Too bad. 

I'm Loving my amped outdoors batteries. I can;t say one bad thing, other than the price. if I get 6-8 years out of them it will be well worth price. I'm expecting to get more. I bought 2- 24 volt for my Ultrex and a 12 volt 60AH for my house battery. I suppose I'll pull my batteries this fall and bring them indoors. Its much easier proposition since they are so light. 

So are you early adopter guys planning on pulling your lithiums from the boat this winter?  Or do you all have the luxury of heated storage?  

Every lithium iron phosphate I am aware of will be damaged if exposed to temperatures below the 0F to -10F limit.  

As the original poster, l just wanted to give some feedback on what l installed....I bought a new 36 volt,, 112 lb. ,, ulterra trolling motor, 72" ,  and paired it with a single 36 volt Epoche battery (100Ah) ,(very nice unit)  along with their 36 volt charger...Everything is working just great..  I installed this on my older Lund 1850 Tyee and it powers it nicely.  I have trolled in calm waters for 4 hours ,with just the ulterra pulling cranks, and only ran the Battery down 50% ..most of the time I do troll with the kicker motor powering the boat and the trolling motor doing the steering.. with the battery lasting 8 hours plus....I am very happy with the results.    Duck       ps , thanks for all the info I received.

Weise Battery update: Trolled from 2 to 9 for salmon using the trolling motor for steering set to 4. Still had 80% charge left after the 7 hours.

Weise Battery update: Took a little trip and batteries were unplugged from the charger for 3 weeks, still showed full voltage when I got home. Pulled Crank baits behind planer boards at 2.1 to 2.3 with no assistance from the main motor, lasted approximately 6.25 hours before shutting off. Full voltage through the whole trip, only drawback is no warning that they are about to quit. So far so good, but only time will tell the whole story!

Thanks for the update J W. Yes I absolutely love the spot lock feature. At least my onboard charger is very accessible which should ease install.

Update: Batteries charged from about 80% to full charge in about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Charger appears to be working correctly! I believe the chargers actually slow near the end but give the full 10 amps for most of the charging cycle. Not exactly sure how long the charger was off before I measured, but the voltage was at 13.57.

Edit: After sitting overnight batteries are at 13.42 V, consistent with last charge at 99 to 100% full charge per manual.

Moon River, you are going to absolutely love Spot Lock! Another reason to have good batteries. I haven't used an anchor in I don't know how long! 

I had a Real Pro RS2 that is good for Lithium that I charged them with the first time but I don't think it was working correctly. It actually boiled out my existing batteries over the winter, thus the upgrade. 

I installed a Minn Kota MK-220 PCL today and it is charging as I write this. It lets you select which type of battery you have. 2 banks, 10 Amps each. Hardest part was removing the old charger, wire ties where you can't reach, almost need to be a contortionist! 

I'll let you know how it works after they are done charging. Got it at Hodges Marine on-line for $221 with free shipping.

Jabberwalker what did you do for charging the batteries? On board charger? If so what kind or portable charger? Get my boat out of storage on Sunday. Will check / charge / decide if this is "the year" to jump from lead acid. Pushing 5 years om them. Any charging info would be appreciated! (By the way I upgraded to 24 volt Terrova last year from 24 volt Power Drive and have an OLD 2 bank charger I feel will need to be changed out also)

Anybody try out any Li-ion starting batteries? I've heard mixed reviews so far.
