All we hunt is public north west central wi.

State, fed, county, township.

Scout, scout, scout.  The dried up spot you been hunting the last 20 yrs has changed, the woods changes every year.

Once you burn some boot leather and find new spots you'll find the deer.

I believe the current stucture is just fine.

I shot one doe with my xbow, saw two awesome public land bucks like my son's 9 pt. Thing's just did work out.  She was shot on the ground with my new gillie suit.

Funnest year if my life, and the boys are chopping at the bit to scout. They look at onx on their phones daily to see the new pins I put on there to go check.

To each their own.

Happy hunting to all, my success and filled freezers bless you.

How come no one is looking in the mirror and realizing its you, the person looking in the mirror.

Nope let's go a blame everything possible.

Why are kids not hunting? Maybe just maybe they don't like the self entitled pick parent gripping at others bucks, or deer.

Instead of teaching horn porn, and practicing it. Practice hunting, woodsmanship, etc...

You'll get deer and be way more happy. So will the kids, and they'll run out the door to go to the cabin.

2019 all public.

Harvest was down this year........ to the state that means "we must sell more licenses!"

or maybe........ just MAYBE the deer are hurting. Up here in the North end of the state, try going out to the woods and tell me the deer are THRIVING and BEGGING for 10 more days of rifles. Shaking my fist in anger here.

Let's bring back earn a buck and sell unlimited doe tags in every county. Let's also make gun season year-long while we're at it. Yep, that's a good idea. That's where we are headed.

Crossbows do bother me, but I'll bite my tongue there. I use a compound that is so decked out with gear, it's hard to really call it "archery". If crossbows get people off the couch, I'm all for it. Granted, I do think we should watch harvest numbers there.

Thanks, Oldhunter

My concern is that if it passes with Majority it is on the table and end result is an unknown.

A November 1st start date will be a 100% no-go, with the folks that are driving these questions. Wont happen.

no-luck  -  The 9-day gun season "opening" date is directed by legislative/statutory mandate. The DNR/NRB can only extend the season length. To change the season opening date would have to require further legislative action.

Ref: extending the current nine-day gun season to 19 days

Has anyone actually have any seen any Data that pertains to this question.

I see that the assumption is that the 10 days will be added after the end of the traditional rifle season.

These are the possibilities that I see:

19 day season could start on Nov. 1 or could start 10 days before Traditional, or could run from Nov. 5 to 24 every year, or who knows.

Do you trust the NRB or the legislature to do the right thing?
