Sick Child Begging To Deer Hunt

Hey guys,

I've got a 13 year old nephew that is just begging me to get out and get his first deer but he has had a bad case of Ulcerative Colitis for the last two years and needs to be able to go #2 at all times.

I really want to take him out but I'm a public land hunter and my style of hunting would be almost impossible for him to do.

Does anybody have any suggestions at all?

If you really want to take him, you would. I’m with the post before me. Bring a poop bag and go hunting. You must not really want to take him. 

Ran across the thread and thought I'd follow up to see how the season went if you were able to take your nephew out. Hopefully he was able to have an enjoyable experience, deer or no deer.

That really sucks. I can't imagine being a kid with that. I have Crohn's, but I wasn't diagnosed until my mid-late 20s.  I also hunted public land for a stretch and just made sure to have a roll of TP in my pack. I didn't enjoy having to, but it can absolutely be done.   There were times, though, that I knew what I was in for and would just come out and drive into town a few miles away. Not exactly conducive to success, but gotta do what you can. If he needs a seat, bring a bucket with a pool noodle around 3/4 of the rim and some trash bags. He gets to carry that lol
