Score this BUCK
Buck posted by Cantwork has gotta have 45” inches or so on mass alone. Love the pop can bases, gotta be 7” or better.
I didn't shoot that one myself, a friend did. It actually green scored higher than either of those guesses. I'm afraid to say what the score was for fear of people not believing. I don't have or recall all of the figures but if my memory is right the main beams were like 26 3/4 and incredibly thick. The pictures really just don't do it justice. Didn't take enough good pics because it wasn't my deer.
Can't work, great buck. Based on my score yours must be close to 150. Looks heavier and taller. Good symmetry side to side. Congrats
Can'tWork, that's a stud 8. If you told me 140, i'd believe it.
Big long beams, great mass.
I got caught up in the 8 point discussion and forgot to congratulate you on your deer, Bullman. Very nice buck.
Great 8, Bull. Your taxi isn't far off. Based on the measurements you posted, he will gross right in that 140" range. Congrats!
SUBl - re-add your side!
Thanks everyone, I have received the green score of 141 gross and 138 net. The taxidermist did that but he was rushing and green. Past the drying time now so can get the offical score when he comes back. That is the biggest I have shot in 49 years. Huge for me but boy do some of you guys have some studs that have taken. The beams were 22.5 and 22.75 Both G2 were 9.0 and G3 were 8.5 and 6.5. Thanks for everyones guesses. Many very close. Hard to get an 8 that scores real high.
Man, time flies. It doesn't seem that long ago, but this buck was killed in 2012. His core area was on the property, along with the neighbors. Had three years worth of pretty regular trail cam pics. But, as with all mature bucks getting pictures and knowing they're around is one thing, getting an opportunity is another. My friend had one and it didn't work out. A hunter on the neighbor's got him during the rifle season that year. Neighbor told us his left g2 was 15". I'll never know for sure.
He grew a split on that left g2 in 2011, otherwise he was always a clean 8. Put two more g tines on him an you've got yourself a B/C deer. I'd prefer him just the way he was; a true clean, mature 8. They aren't common.
