I got Permission to hunt some land thru a friend, I’m trying to look it up, is there a way to look up property lines of the land for free instead of paying to upgrade onx hunt app?
Fowler: Yes it does.
County GIS maps should have lat and longs. Get coordinates of the corners enter them as waypoints in your gps. Zoom out and stay within the polygon.
Edit: I was just literally on the Oneida county GIS with my phone it will do a “where am I” transposed on the parcel map. Granted every county contracts different entities to administer GIS services but you I’d bet most are similar.
Zoom in far enough with google earth and parcel boundaries will show in faint white
Igor.....Does the DNR site have private ownership boundaries?
Go to this link and you should be able to find what you need.
GIS online mapping for the county the property exists in. Navigate into the property parcel/tax info to get information regarding boundaries, etc
Check the county website. They have maps that show what you want. Also meet with the landowner to verify land line boundaries. Your interest in maintaining respect for the adjacent property owners will go a long way in continuing to be able to hunt there. A step further would be to meet with the adjacent property owners to further clarify boundaries.
