i got a tag this year for bear hunting and i amm looking for some advice. i am wondering wear i should bait on my land. the last 2 years i have had a friend and a family member hunt the same stand and both have seen bear and got them on the trail camera at the same stand. my dad thinks that i should hunt on the other side of the land which is across a fairly messy swamp. do bears really travel that far and through that much just to get food. any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks. notice the screen name. that is literally the spot that the bear have been seen and that is not a joke. the spot is called bearhill and that is the name of the road we r closest to.

What's your thoughts on muzzleloader use, spoke with someone and they would never recommend using one. Just punched hole through no expansion at short range, plug up too easily,Thoughts ? 50 cal.

Bohunting guy, you are right. I have seen many "300's" that were half that/

Ditto, Phelps. That is a nice bear. Enjoy the meat and the mount.

Nice work Phelps, nothing wrong with a 175 pounder. In fact most of the “300 pounders” that people see actually are 175 pounds. Enjoy your bear meat. It’s delicious.

I connected on 175 pounder tonight at 645. Yeah not big, but I'm happy was a great experience for first bear. Yeah had some really nice ones on cam during daylight but not after labor day. One was easily 500 or more but could be waiting forever for him. Good luck to rest of you.
