One of the questions asked for statewide response last night at the Conservation Congress meeting was to extend the area to use dogs to hunt bear south to hiway 21. As a bowhunter and a bear hunter I do not support this idea. Season could last until the middle of October. With the amount of private land in this area, I see nothing but problems.

I voted no, and suspect that more than a few guys that run hounds did too (I don't run dogs). It certainly would lead to more confrontation, and they don't want any more 'black eyes' than what is already happening in A and B. There are plenty of bear hunting opportunities in zone C without hounds. They just need to make more tags available.

I agree, let's leave it the way it is currently. I have already had bear dogs trespassing my private land lease. And yes,the dog had a tracking collar & was chasing a bear. I caught it on my trail camera. Big Mac
