Acorn crop? Hickory nut crop?

Just a little observation as summer ends tomorrow. Was wondering what others are seeing. Last year was a crazy bumper crop year.

I am in the Wautoma area in Wisconsin. Little or no acorns or hickory nuts. Squirrels are hitting my crab apple tree for food already. Could be a long winter for the critters around here.

After I posted this and saw some responses I got to wondering why it could go from bumper to zero. Usually there are a few trees that produce something. I asked a friend of mine who farms and he said heavy rains over several  days could have hindered the process as his acorns, hickories, apple trees don't have squat on them either. Then I looked at my five apple trees and had two apples on them.

I googled it and found this and a few other articles.

Forest CTY also. Crazy acorn drop all summer like last year. Berries were few and far between.

We have a summer place in the northwest corner of Chippewa county Wisconsin and there is a good acorn crop again this year. There is even a good hickory and walnut crop as well. Thinking is will be a cold winter as the squirrels are really collecting them already.

Bowhunting Guy  - I've got a place in Forest cty and agree on the poor berries this year. My blackberry patches looked poor last year and all but gone this year. Raspberries were okay.

It’s been hit or miss by me in Oneida County. Virtually none on my property, but some surrounding public land has had a good acorn crop. Too far north for hickories.

On a similar note, it was a very poor year for berries. Anyone else notice similar results?

I hunt in northern Marquette cty and I don't recall seeing much of anything either.  Our random wild apple/crab apple trees on our farm I'm certain have nothing either.  I checked those when I scouted.
