2020 Gun Season Big Buck Contest

After winning this prestigious award last year, I was looking to defend my title, yet no one has started the thread.  So I guess I'll have to.

The scoring is simple: number of points + inside spread. So  a 10 point buck with a 16”  spread is 26 points. 

Entry into the contest must be declared before the start of legal hunting hours on Saturday 11-21-20.

Entry fee is free as always, with 100% of that paid to the first place winner.

Shot this Iowa County buck this morning at 7:40 A.M.  Pretty  damp conditions this morning, but the snow backdrop was pretty cool to hunt in. Good luck to all those still pursuing!

Great buck Ice Rat!!  I really don't have a lot of history with this buck, he was kind of a bonus.  Had a few other really good ones on camera but only had a few late summer/ early fall pics of this guy.  My guess would be 4-5 yrs old.  He had some really large hooves and a very nice neck.  After skinning him out, found that he had virtually zero fat on him, even on the top of the hind end where there is usually some fat, this guy had none.  Must have been running pretty hard the past few weeks.

Nice bucks on here so far. Scout King, that buck looks old, do you have an estimate on its age?

One more pic. My son saw the deer exactly one week before at same time in the morning in the same spot and made a simple ground blind with conduit and a $9 piece of burlap from Walmart the day before the opener. 

My son got this one opening morning at 10:25 a nice heavy 10. Long time L/L user but did not enter the contest. Only a few shots all opening morning, but not at all surprising with the deer population being so low where we hunt in Forest county. Only a few in our group had even seen a deer when we left yesterday at noon.............Bring on the ice!!!!
