After winning this prestigious award last year, I was looking to defend my title, yet no one has started the thread.  So I guess I'll have to.

The scoring is simple: number of points + inside spread. So  a 10 point buck with a 16”  spread is 26 points.

Entry into the contest must be declared before the start of legal hunting hours on Saturday 11-21-20.

Entry fee is free as always, with 100% of that paid to the first place winner.

If you do score an entry please post pics.

Good luck and stay safe!

I'm in!

One more pic. My son saw the deer exactly one week before at same time in the morning in the same spot and made a simple ground blind with conduit and a $9 piece of burlap from Walmart the day before the opener.

My son got this one opening morning at 10:25 a nice heavy 10. Long time L/L user but did not enter the contest. Only a few shots all opening morning, but not at all surprising with the deer population being so low where we hunt in Forest county. Only a few in our group had even seen a deer when we left yesterday at noon.............Bring on the ice!!!!

I saw 8 deer yesterday: 2 small bucks, 3 does, and 3 fawns.  I passed up on the bucks in hopes for a bigger one.  This one came in at 8:00 this morning.  It's not saying much for it being bigger than the ones I saw yesterday, but it'll be good tasting!  Can't eat the rack anyway!  5 Points, approximately 4 inch spread

Shot him at 432 tonight.  Was hoping my daughter would get a crack at him but unfortunately he went the wrong way and with her 223 it just was too far of a shot. But I wasn't gonna let him walk away.

8 pointer

12inch spread

I'm happy! So is she!

I took the first standing broadside shot presented to me.  doe = 0 pts.  Up here in Dunn county it was beautiful hunting weather and was able to sit from 6am to 5pm saturday and 6am to 11:45 today.  Thankful for my harvest.

Good Hunting!

Bud man, likely a clean miss. My buddy had virtually the exact same scenario and outcome this morning. We couldn’t find hair or blood where he thought the impact was, and made wide circles from where he last saw the deer. If you hit the deer anywhere in the body, you would have blood or a dead deer within 100 yards.

A clean miss is the second best scenario. Shake it off and you’ll get him next time.

Ben there, done that.  Who hasn’t?

You missed.  Who knows why.  Your uncomfortable rest, unseen branch, whatever.  Rest easy knowing what you should and could.
