Winch cable

Have a metal cable and always ends up winding between rows and winch ens up reversing later when using. Will a rope cable solve this or look at say a strap style around drum  if they make that ?

Can you replace the wire cable with the 2" flat strap material . What mods are needed to attach the strap to the hub ?  Thanx 

I use a strap, 2" webbed strap.  Works great
