I love hearing about and seeing good bucks taken on public ground.  Lets share a picture and maybe a bit of a hunt recap or your best public land buck.  Any tactic or set up info that you would be willing to offer would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks and can't wait to see some trophys!

Juneau county Central Forest. Shot November of 2017. Came out of bedding area at 4pm. 25 yard shot, ran about 50 yards. Dropped feet from cattails. Buddy sat the same place the next weekend and had one similar to mine but never presented a shot.

Muskynut,

He was 6 1/2 years old. Had pics of him from 2 1/2 on.  He would always spend his summers with a heavy 8 point, they were always together. The year I shot him, my dad scouted a ridge a little outside the area I had been hunting him and found lots of buck sign with a huge area he thought bucks had been fighting in because it was so roughed up. We went in there that day and set up and he worked a scrape about 60 yards from me, I grunted and he came right in. One week later my dad killed the heavy 8 who was even older than this buck. By far our best archery season in the National Forest. Very lucky

Great bucks!! FishnHunt14- those are both incredible bucks! One heck of a 2 week span there.

This is my largest from NE Wisconsin bigwoods.  Had more than a few years of history with this guy, and lucky enough to get his sheds from the previous year.  Dressed out 227 lbs
