There is some smaller buck activity around Western Wisconsin. I think maybe a cool down may kick it into gear a little. I took off October 29th thru Nov. 15th just to be sure.

Hunted Shawano county past weekend Friday Night and Most of Saturday. A LOT of small buck activity. Had a 2 1/2 yr old come in 3 different times, plenty of shots. 2 different forks chasing does and watched the 2 1/2 year old kick one's butt. Something was in the air the past weekend. Saw 8 different bucks, but like I said, a lot of small ones getting fired up.

I'm burning up my last 2 weeks of vacation soon (if approved by boss). From Oct 26 till Dec 4 I'm only working 7 days. I should have it covered.

I don't think the size of the scrape or tree rub matters much. I always figured that big deer made big rubs on big trees until I saw a video of a small basket 6pt tearing up an 8in tree.

Went out last night in Eau Claire and saw a few scraps already. They all are fresh and one actually a big scrap. Is that mean a big buck?

I have a picture of a buck following a doe last week on trail camera . Do you think the rut is kicking in already? I do see that the sporting good shops have doe in heat scent and grunt tubes on the shelves.
