Hello -

I'm thinking of purchasing the Denali IV and was curious if anyone has any intel on Clam's newest product. I love the 4 seat capacity as I generally fish in larger groups, but am somewhat hesitant at the $500+ price tag. Any first hand knowledge of the pros/cons would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

John

John, For being new this season I am sure there will be better reviews after this season. I was able to play with one and it really is a nice units. You can't beat it for a 4 person shack and weighing in under some 2 person shacks. The way everything folds up is truely unique to flip style shanties. Plus your gear can be stored under the seat. Go in and check them out if you can. I am sure you will be pleased. Take care.

Dutch,

I am really digging the Denali series from Clam this season..Personally, for my ice business I will be putting my clients into the Denali II.. With this shelter they will get the most viable fishing room of any flip over shelter on the market. The seats are comfy and the space is endless.

Now the IV is a good shack too, and has the same characteristics as what I explained above. You will probably love it for you and all your buddies. But, like anything, I would suggest you find a local Gander or Fleet Farm and check them out for yourself. See how much room you all have, etc etc.. Where if it doesnt have "enough" room, you can always look at an X 4 that has a bit more space.

Or, if you plan on coming to the St. Paul Ice Show, stop over at the Clam area and I can help you out as well.

Good luck..

looks like a great shack. I'm thinkin about gettin the 2 man version maybe next year. I like the idea that you get all the room for yourself to fish in front of you. I got a yukon now and can only fit 3 holes in the shack. One for me and one for my partner and 1 for the camera. With the denali i could have all 3 to myself. I'm sure the 4 man is a little heavier so hopefully you got a sled or quad to pull it with.
