Rekindling an old thread... Im looking for resharpening that is specific to Madison metro area. TNT in Poynette has taken the usual 30 day vaca from Dorns and Ace. But I cannot find another sharpening service to save my life. Closest is Beaver Dam. Any input from the peanut gallery as to another person in Madison metro area?

Daves bait and tackle in crystal lake, il. Took my 8 in lazer hand auger and 8 in lazer power auger blades in a couple weeks ago. Neither were ever sharpened before. Now my power auger takes alot longer to drill holes. Not impressed at all. havent tried the hand auger yet.

Franks hardware in stevens point. 1 week turnaround. Leave sometime on monday. Kid working the counter could not tell me exact time of pickup. May drop mine off early monday....

don't know if this has been posted already. sorry if it has. in madison, wi you can drop off at dorn's hardware. they have a guy come in to pick up all things that need sharpening on fridays. he picks up and drops off on fridays so it'll take a week to get your blades back (this sucks, i know). when i called on friday they sid he charges $5. nowhere else in madison, wi does it separate from this that i know of. every place i called mentioned the one week turn around time.

Is there anyone that sharpens more auger blades around Stevens Point anymore. A friend did a number on mine a few weeks ago by drilling into a sand bar. I didn't realize it until I tried them today and it took me 10 minutes to get three holes done. Ouch!

Try your local hardware store. I just go to hardware hank they charge me 3$ and they are plenty sharp.

Starting to get those cool nights and in some areas(up north)the leaves are turning to our favorite colors. If you're like me I'm already looking at my ice gear.
