I just let my scanner find what ever is being used at the time. Basically use it for Coastguard contact if we get into trouble. Very few communications happen at all between trolling boats on Lake Michigan eventhough everyone says to tune in for fishing reports. I once emailed a very productive fisherman about it who frequents Milwaukee area out of McKinnley Marina and he said something like this: "No one puts in on the radio for the public to hear when they catch one because all the boats come near you like flies covering poop when you make the mistake of telling them where you caught it, who you are or what your boat looks like". Of course we know that basically trollers don't like other trollers near them for fear of tangling lines. Navigation becomes harder each time a new boat is added into the same area of water. Cool
