Problems with Cuddeback Excite
Before you contact the company I would take a look at the pins on the Flash Cards and the pins on the camera. My advice would be to check to see if the pins are all lined up. The flaw in their design is that 2 pins can go into the same hole if the flash card is not lined up just perfect. This will stop the unit from saving pictures. I have not had any other problems with my unit.
Another note: Be careful where you purchase your Cuddebacks. Some retailers have YOU return Cuddeback cameras to the manufacturer for repair, while some retailers just provide YOU with a new camera.
Do you mean to tell me that Walt Larson didnt answer your phone calls PERSONALLY?!
Wow, after watching those commercials I would have thought Cuddeback was the best camera out there! Dont tell Walt, but my Stealth Cam takes great pictures...only problem is that it triggers almost TOO FAST and only gets the head/neck of the deer. Dont tell him that tho...I dont want to hurt his feelings!
Cuddeback is just a name for me...its just like most markets...they pay for advertising and every other company spreads by testimonials and word of mouth. Personally, I dont care what the 'pros' use on TV because more often than not, they are using the 'best' because the units are FREE (not to mention any other incentive$)!! I have never really heard of anyone outside those commercials who liked their Cuddeback (friends, family, etc.). Everyone Ive talked to about cameras have said they are fairly difficult to use and dont hold up to the standards Walt and company set forth on those commercials! Now, I will say that not everyone reads the directions, etc. so some of the problems may be simple. I hope Cuddeback treats you well. I have heard that they are quick to make things right, and may even throw in a hat or t-shirt. The worst thing for you in this situation is that you missed out on a LOT of scouting due to their faulty equipment...that is not able to be replaced by their customer service! Hope you have a successful hunting season regardless! Shoot straight guys!
I did see someone on Craigslist that had a 2006 Cuddeback No Flash that apparently won't store pictures anymore. They said that you can send it in and they will replace it with a new camera. Not sure if that is true or not since the guy is selling it. He says he just went and bought a new one so he was ready for the season, but then again its craigslist so I don't trust it 100%.
