Is it the BP gas station about a block down from the dairy queen where you can get minnows? Tried calling there today to verify, and can't get any answer. Fat heads, shiners or what is it everyone uses in case I need to find somewhere else on the way?

the bay and all it's tribs account for a lot of water and walleyes and I have caught my fair share of tagged fish and enjoy following up on that fishes history. What would you say was your most out of place walleye caught in the fox is? For me it was one the was from peak spawn and was from the cedar river MI, they told me that was the furthest south any of there fish has turned up.

Only time of the year you can take a picture of a guy fishing in an ice fishing pop up, another guy casting from the shore, and yet another guy fishing in a boat, all in the same photo lol. I gotta say, those guys on the ice out there now must want the fish more then I do!

Bring a bat to clear some room and a gun incase someone else has the same tactic.

Totaly kidding,,,,,,,but way too many people for me.

I just sit up here at the dam in Shawano waiting for the 2-3 walleyes that make it this far up the wolf.

How many is a lot of people from shore? Do you have to squeeze your way in or could a guy put out 2 lines with wolf river rigs without being a jerk? Is the mouth by the boat launch packed with guys this time of year too? Does anyone fish by the downtown businesses from shore legally? 100 mile drive to fish from shore so any ideas would be great. SHoot me a PM. Thanks!

Banger- From what I could see from the boat today, there was still some ice between the park and island. Lots of people fishing in from the wall in front of the park though.

Probably just a bit early yet on the night bite. But it can be very good! Get there early to get a spot and don't forget to wear a helmet and googles...it gets a little hairy listening to crankbaits whistling past your ears. Doh!

Just wondering how the night bite is this time off year. I know as the run gets going a lot of guys start to fish into the twilight but is it worth sitting in the dark right now?

Footloose that makes me ashamed to live in De Pere.Maybe it was stolen buy an other fisherman but then that's sad also.

I've already had the red lens covers on the trailer lights stolen at the boat launch in De Pere. How low can a guy get. I can't even imagine how desperate that low life skumbag was. If I ever see anyone messing with someones trailer up there he'll be tied to it and poked with a stick till the owner gets done fishing.

I've overnighted it once or twice myself. Usually spend the first night under the stars letting the powerhouse and freezing rain lull me to sleep. Second night I'm ready for a soak in some filthy overchlorinated hot tub...but not before stripping off every piece of electronics, gear, beer, and whatever. From a criminals standpoint the Depere run of easy gettins is way more predictable than the fish are for the rest of us.

Muskie-

I travel overnight often with my rig and stay at hotels. Particularly I stay in Green Bay a lot. I am happy to report that I have not had any problems in the number of years I have stayed. I try to find hotels that have parking that is not ideal for thieves. Obviously, I would love a locked storage place (inside would be awesome). Yet, realistically speaking, I'm already trying to save as much as I can with each trip and probably not going to pay extra to store the boat. Also, my guess is that a lockable storage place has some level of restriction of dropping off and picking up your rig which is counter productive to fishing late and early hours.

HOWEVER, I do believe there would be an awesome market for anyone that had secure boat storage for short periods of time in the very near area. I have offered locals 35 bucks to park in their drive way for two-three days. The savings in gas and wear and tear alone by not hauling my rig back home only to come back three days later would be worth it.

Just my thoughts.
