So im a die hard Gary Yamamoto senko user, time and time again they outperform EVERYTHING and ANYTHING i have ever used. They are my go to for slow bitting days. But my problem is the price, $7 for a bag of 8 (maybe 10) and with a ratio of 1 fish = 1 senko then replace im fresh out of my preffered color ans size. With a new baby girl due to arrive on Sep 9 i cant afford to go big, so i did some searching and found a place called http://alluringbaits.com/ They offer senko style soft bait plus a slew of other softbaits and (usually) a fraction of the price.

Anyone heard of them before??? Im planning on ordering just a few of my preffered style just to see the quality and action they provide. If I spend $20 and they are horrible well, i only spent $20.

Ok so my order arrived today from alluring baits. And im a glad to say i AM pleased with their product, even the "dents and dings" worms i recieved are still really nice. I paid $20 for 100 pcs, including shipping, not to shabby if you ask me. We tried them out just at the local pond and the bass couldnt get enough of the 4" chartruese w/ black flake. I only got to try those but i did manage to throw out a yum version and a gander mountain version of almost the same things (color slightly different) and each time they tore up the yamamotos and these new worms!!! Im a believer..... Were going fishing tomorrow since i have the day off and ill be sure to post up the results of trying the bigger worms and hula grubs i got from them too. Im even excited to try the 7" hawg hunter they threw in (dark blue with blue flake) I will make sure to try worms from other companies that i have to compare the reactions i get from each worm. Instead of comparing them to the yamamotos ill compare them to the other brands since those are the ones i have not had good luck with. Smile Sorry for the typo, i am completely satisfied with their product. I need to learn to use spell check and proof read better... Sad

Thanks for that link i never ran across that in my searches. I actually did some research on pouring my own, i found a website similar to that and they have alot of different molds and they also sell the plastic mixture. I actually have plans to buy some molds and stuff to make my own over the winter, by spring i should be fully stocked. That definately is the most cost effective way (not to mention fullfilling by DIY), but for ease and quickness i just purchased the alluring baits products.

Thanks for the link, ill check it out. I did some more searching on info regarding alluring baits and they seem to have quite a following on different bass message boards. Everyone seems to say they are just as good as yamamto senko or very close to it. I ordered $20 worth of different styles/colors and sizes, which in turn got me 80 pieces total!! thats including the shipping. Ill be sure to let you guys interested in how they work

Get a bottle of Mend-it. I fish soft plastic 95% of the time and Mend-it does wonders. I don't fish Senkos as often as you, but I still have my pack from last season. I just keep mending them back together. It's the same with hollow belly swimbaits, which I mainly use - I keep all the ripped ones and fix them when I get home or right on the water if the action slows down, good as new. I've only bought one pack this season, only because I wanted to try a new color.

Actually if these baits im asking about are even decent i could save alot more then $2, they are $5 for a quantity of 25. I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" but there is always an exception to the rule, and considering i mainly use senkos (atleast lately) why not try to save a few dollars ???

I hate people that complain about a simple question like mine, you have no idea of my financial situation and i certainly do not know yours. If i want to continue fishing and having the same amount of success i need to find ways to save a couple bucks if i can find something that is really comparable. If i cant find something well then atleast i tried and can relay that information to someone if they ask the same question i did at one point.

That is the point of these message boards right?? to relay personal information and stories to others ?? Wondering

I fish them texas rigged mainly since where i fish is heavily weeded. I do have O rings for wacky rigging but that doesnt help me for texas rigging. I like the fact that 1 senko equals 1 fish but i hate that after that one fish they are usually torn, not always but usually. I purchased some tiki stiks, slurpies and a couple other "senko" style worms all in my most productive color and size but they just dont do the trick.

Just last weekend i was catching a fish on every cast with a Yamamoto senko and switched over to a Yum that is very similar and it did not have the same results, when i switched back to the original senkos i had a fish every cast again. Just gets expensive after awhile. I purchased $75 worth of original senkos 2 years ago and i just used my last pack last weekend. Last year i fished mainly wacky with O rings this year ive yet to even try wacky rigging them. I think the difference is the places i fish most of the time wacky rigging is just to much of a pain because of weeds...

There really are a ton of lure companies that make soft plastics that work just as well as Yamamoto baits, but cost a fraction of the price. Try a few different brands, and you'll find what works for you.

1 Senko = 1 fish? Are you not a fan of using a dental band, split ring, or short section of shrink tubing to increase bait longevity?
