Need new line counter reals, what do you guys recommend?

I am in need of new line counter reals for my walleye trolling rods. Im looking to spend around $100 a real. What do you guys like/recommend? I have cabelas brand now and they just dont work well

Thanks, Fish Hound. Just what I needed. I'm going to get two 30s and three 45s for the lead.

The Convector 30 is a great size for riggers, divers, and leadcore up to 5 color. Anything more switch to the 45, they are good up to about 200 copper or 10 color leadcore and anything more the 55L Convector is the better choice.

Can anyone tell me about the Okuma Convector size 30 versus 45 for salmon? Would the 30 be better for riggers and the 45 for lead? Or should we get all 45s and use them for all methods?

I am a big fan of the Accudepth Plus 27's. I haven't bought any since they made their updates but I have been running mine for 5+ years with no issues.

I talked to okuma this winter and they had re done the cold waters since last year. They did have problems with the drags and counters, but have fixed it. Been running mine now since spring and have not had a problem losing fish due to drags failing.

I bought a pair of coldwaters last year and am disappointed in the drag system. They don't respond to adjustment unless completely backed off,which is of NO help when fighting a large fish.

Liking the Okuma coldwater 203d model. Im going to check them out this weekend Along with a few other models

Just got the Okuma cold water reels. Really like them so far. Got them for just about $93 a piece. When I was looking for new reels, I paid a lot of attention to the drag gears and max lbs for the drag. Really wanted a reel with a good drag system and so far the cold waters are holding up. If I could afford Tekotas, that would def be my reel of choice.

Agree on the Accudepth but I like the 17's. Really not much less in the line capacity from the 27's, but the higher gear ratio is nice for those times you're trying to move boards around in a hurry. Only complaint I've ever had with mine is they don't seat well into the Mr Walleye rods I have. Not sure if that's cause of the reel or the rod, but either way I still like them.

I have had zero issues with my Daiwa Accudepth 27's - now they come with a power handle, which is a lot nicer than the double paddle handle of the older ones. I've had mine for 5 or 6 years now.

I don't think you can go wrong with Abu Garcia. The $100 might be a little hard to stay under. They have multiple levels of reels and price. Good luck.
