Had my Vizsla out hunting Sunday afternoon and heard him yelp while in the field. He seemed fine at the time. Got home and he was really favoring his right rear leg and this afternoon I noticed his hock swollen do I give him a couple of days or get him to the vet right away? It doesn't seem to bother him all the time I only saw him limp a few times today but he yelps pretty good so it must hurt bad. Thoughts?

Could be tendon damage? My lab blew her achilles and that area is pretty big now from where they reattached it. An blown achilles wants to make a whole hock drop, which it looks like yours is still keeping it up pretty good. They do say if there is something that needs to be reattached, the sooner the better. Not sure where you live, ask for a vet that specializes in orthopedics. Our's predicted the diagnosis, but sent us to the surgeon in Appleton right away.
