Tamarack Lodge is open year around and has been the vacation destination of choice for many of our guests and their families for over 20 years. Our resort is situated in a protected bay on Lake Winnibigoshish and offers everything you might need for an enjoyable vacation. Some of the amenities include an in-ground swimming pool, free boat launching, protected docks, rental boats, motors, pontoon boats, gas, paddle boats, bait, and dock service.

All of our modern housekeeping cabins are spotless when you arrive and include, cable TV, appliances, cooking utensils, bedding, picnic tables and barbeque grills. Four of these cabins are handicapped accessible. We have a huge playground for the kids, fire pits, and horseshoe pits for the adults. Our lodge features a small bar, convenience store, game room and is the center for weekly potluck dinners and fish fry's. Our bait shop is completely stocked with minnows, crawlers, leeches, and all of the tackle necessary to catch the "Big One"!

Lake Winnie is a Walleye and Jumbo Perch factory that is home of the state record Musky and also produces many trophy size Northern Pike. In addition to these widely sought after species, Lake Winnie also has excellent populations of Crappies, Sunfish, and a virtually untouched population of huge Largemouth Bass. Unlike some other lakes, Lake Winnie not only produces limits of fish in the spring, but throughout the summer.

In the fall, Walleye, Musky, and Northern fishing is phenomenal from September through mid November and the duck, grouse, and deer hunting is spectacular!

Winter brings awesome Jumbo Perch and Walleye fishing with plowed lake access to the best fishing spots. In addition to fishing, the Chippewa National Forest has an extensive network of snowmobile trails that will provide hours of fun and entertainment. No matter what time of year, we have people in camp that can help you catch fish. From professional guides to hard-core local fishermen, we always have up to the minute information about where the fish are and what they are biting on.

For the downtime or for people who don't fish every minute, we are located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest with miles of hiking trails, ATV trails, and some of the best Bald Eagle viewing in North America. There are three casinos just a short drive from your cabin and great shopping in Grand Rapids and Walker. If you enjoy golf, there are several championship courses in the area and we would be happy to arrange tee times for you in advance.

Before your trip to Northern Minnesota, you can also get on the Internet and order your vacation supplies. That's it, no muss no fuss. Your groceries will be shopped for you and delivered to our resort or you can drive through Grand Rapids on your way to our resort and pick up your order.
