Nick's had a rod in his hands his entire life and he's fished professionally for the past fourteen years. He's one of the industry's most successful fish catching captains but the record he's most proud of is his history of making friends of customers who return to fish with him year after year. Nick enjoys teaching but even if your idea of a fun trip is seeing Door County from the water, relaxing and just reeling in the fish, you'll enjoy your trip with Nick.

Nick enjoys people and his enthusiasm shows in everything he does. He's captained a number of Lake Michigan salmon boats mostly out of Madelyn Marina in Sturgeon Bay which is conveniently located next to the Bayview Bridge and provides direct access to Lake Michigan. The marina is adjacent to The Lodge at Leathem Smith and many of our fishing guests stay there to take advantage of the convenient location and the amenities the offer including clean modern rooms, excellent dining, fisherman's breakfasts, bars and a heated swimming pool.

About the Boat

The boat is a 30 Foot 1997 Baha Cruiser Fisherman powered by a 310 hp 7.4 Mercruiser inboard with a Mercury 4-stroke kicker. It's fully equipped with restroom, radar, auto pilot chart plotter, GPS, VHS radio, digital fishfinder, electric downriggers, Shimano rods and reels plus lots of fishing tackle. Safety is always a priority. The boat is US Coast Guard inspected and safety equipped, ready and waiting for a fun day of salmon fishing with Nick on Lake Michigan.
