About Us

Fish trout and salmon aboard the Fish Doctor with Captain Lynn Frederick. Ms. Frederick, who has a PhD in zoology, has operated her charter fishing service from Baileys Harbor since 1975. When she isn't charter fishing, she is fishing for fun or studying fish. Learn about Lake Michigan ecology firsthand as you fish for trout and salmon with Captain Lynn as your guide. Captain Lynn was practically born with a fishing pole in her hands. She caught her first fish at age 3 and has been fishing ever since. She would love to share her enthusiam for fishing with your family and friends.

The Fish Doctor is a classic 28 foot Bertram Yacht. Bertrams are built in Miami for ocean fishing. They are well known as safe, seaworthy and successful fishing vessels. The Fish Doctor is equipped with the latest fish locating and navigational equipment and all the downriggers, outriggers, and fishing tackle necessary to ensure a successful and enjoyable trip. There is a head (bathroom) of course. The vessel and captains are appropriately licensed and insured.

Baileys Harbor offers excellent fishing in uncrowded Door County waters. You will be fishing on the Lake Michigan side of the peninsula and will see Cana Island and Baileys Harbor Lighthouses during your trip, as well as, local commercial fishermen at work. We will be happy to talk with you about the history and activity of the area.

We offer friendly service to anglers of all ages and abilities. We specialize in small groups of up to 6 persons and offer half day or full day trips to suit your needs. We will be happy to assist you in making multiple boat arrangements for larger groups or with food and lodging.

Your catch will be promptly iced and cleaned. Please have a cooler in your car to take your fish home, or if you are staying in the county a few days, we can arrange to have your catch professionally filleted, vacuum packed and frozen or smoked.
