The entire family can challenge each other to a round of miniature golf at several different courses or sit back and relive the logging days of yore at live, breath-taking lumber jack competitions. Local water skiers delight everyone as they perform their skillful maneuvers and an afternoon or evening of summer theater is not to be missed. Culture buffs will want to browse in our area museums. Try your luck gambling at our local casino. Everyone will want to take a cruise on the nature-filled wilderness waters of the vast Willow Flowage. Free Min-Aqua Bat water ski shows each Sunday, Wednesday & Friday, mid-June through mid-August, on lake Minocqua (Park Street West, downtown Minocqua).

Dining & Shopping in the Minocqua - Arbor Vitae - Woodruff Area Browsing in the tiny shops that dot the main streets and byways of the Lakeland area reveals a truly unusual assortment of unique and interesting gifts and mementos ranging from quality collectibles, distinctive Northwoods outerwear and sporting goods, homemade jams, jellies, candies, sausages and cheeses to handcrafted laces, linens, quilts, plus scents, spices and potpourris all with an up north flavor.
Of particular interest is the impressive variety of original artwork and crafts. Because of its beauty and solitude, the northwoods is of special inspiration to artists and crafts people. Many have moved here, finding the surroundings a continual stimulus to their creative juices. Many have working studios which are open to the public and others display and sell their works in local shops. There are fine wood carvers, sculptors, painters, potters, weavers, sign makers, jewelers, basket-makers, furniture builders, and others. Their works are also unique as gifts to bring back to friends and family.
